  • How does the process work?

The first step is to discuss  the different portrait possibilities for your particular portrait project directly with the artist. After agreements are made, meetings between subject and artist follow. Many times photography tools apply in addition to life session painted entirely by hand. Your special understanding of the subject during preliminary sessions and painting process are always welcomed, respected or leave it up to the artist.  Online or email options available for reviews and progress updates.

  • How long does it take?

Portrait painting time plus the preliminary work varies with schedules. Preliminary work sessions can be done sometimes in a few hours or days and include work from life and photo shoot when appropriate. The portrait painting by hand then follows and can take serveral months.  Best to plan ahead.

  • Fee?

C. Tolpo portraits are competitive with most fine portrait brokers and likewise shipping, framing, and travel are not normally included.  A deposit as well as payment plan options apply with contract agreement.  Cost varies for each project depending on variables: figure portion included, size and how many subjects are involved, pet, child, adult or both? Direct assistance with the artist has been found to be an advantage. Fee is determined upon project review.

  • What selections need to be made?

Important information partaining to the subject and purpose should be compiled.  Representatives need to determine who will be responsible: individual or committee? Consider time elements, especially for special occassions. 

  • Will it Fade?
